DC partners with FoodCorps to promote healthy eating among children
OSSE's recent news―OSSE Launches Initiative to Increase Healthy Eating among District Students―means great things for children and youth in DC. Thirteen AmeriCorps service members will engage children in learning about healthy food, how it grows, and where it comes from, and ensuring they have access to these foods every day during the 2014-15 school year. The AmeriCorps members will be placed in public schools and community-based organizations.

Chavez students present their thesis findings to community, experts June 6
Each year, every Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy seniors present and defend their thesis findings on incredibly important public policy issues. Three of the students have been chosen to present their thesis at the schools' Public Policy Symposium June 6 at 9:30 am. The school describes the event as
a dynamic event that illustrates the powerful impact of the school’s mission, and provides a highly inspirational and educational experience for both the attendees and the scholars chosen to participate. Local and national policy makers, civic leaders, and business leaders attend and witness firsthand how scholars apply critical thinking skills to complex public policy issues.
